That’s what I’m into right now. Most of the newsgroups are already there, some others may come shortly. As usual, access is invite only and reserved to my “friends”.

A growing network
It’s impossible not to notice the success my previous groups had. Right now the four of them, Crazy Marketing International (1.037 subscribers), Crazy Marketing Network (1,001 subscribers), Social Media Marketing International (715 subscribers) and Social Media & Marketing (791 subscribers) are doing fine and new requests for invites are coming in every day.
Not all Facebook users are keen to accept to befriend an unknown guy, even if he already has over 2,800 contacts, and not all of them are willing to give info on their work, their other profiles and their links, but these are the conditions I set for access. Yet the fact that groups keep on growing seem to demonstrate it’s a good policy.
Does it works?
My aim, as usual, is net reputation and link building. New contacts can turn into followers and new links are a powerful rise for my site/blogs.
The other part of the coin is to keep under control spam, scamming, unwanted MLM or affiliation promoters that are the scourge of a platform such as Facebook. I try to keep the groups as professional as possible, just as it actually was a business club.
Most users actually are professionals in advertising, PR and SEM/SEO, and they would not tolerate it, just like I don”t.
So no funny nicknames are allowed unless justified and only if I know well the person, and by no means companies.
The contents
I’m subscribing to several news aggregators, social bookmark sites and newsletters, apart fro other social networks I belong to, and I’m receiving over a hundred interesting posts to chose from each day. So all the news I share are hand picked and evaluated before publishing. Ads do the World, social|mediain, Mixx, MyBlogLog, BlogCatalog, StumbleUpon are just some of my sources.
But other users share as well, so the amount of available news is slightly larger.

And what are the groups?
Groups I created and follow myself:
• A Copywriter’s Blues, open.
Nothing else but great vintage music.
——————————————————–
…Enjoy It, This Is MY My Music!
• Crazy Marketing International, invite only.
All about unconventional marketing & communications. Users participation is welcome and requested: read, post, link, comment, discuss. YOU make the difference, and trough your posts and your links, it returns a strong promotion for YOU!
• DO NOT JOIN THIS GROUP (unless you want to be spammed), invite only.
Here you can find all things English relating my blog http://news.aaa-copywriter.it/, but watch out, every time we write a new post I send updates to my readers. So, if you dislike being spammed, don’t join.
• DO YOU REMEMBER FIDONET?, bilingual, English and Italian, open.
Memories of people and online life before the World Wide Web.
• Marketing & Advertising International, invite only.
Traditional marketing and advertising. Offline. Many unconventional buffs could ask if they still exist. Indeed they do, and the largest share in the market is still theirs. It’s something you gotta know before you can’t do without them.
• Social Media Marketing International, invite only.
• If you want to help define the ideal social network.
• If you’d like to contribute to discover the best use of it.
• If you simply want your voice to be heard….
…Join me on Social Media Marketing International.
• Web, Webmarketing & SEO International, invite only.
How do you handle your Website projects? How much do you really know the Internet? Which Webmarketing strategies do you apply? And what are really your SEO skills?
Let’s share our knowledge!
Groups in collaboration:
• CREATIVES ARE BAD by MTN Company, trilingual, English Italian and Spanish, open.
The “exhibition of rejected ads” brings a selection of works by Spanish and Italian agencies, as an opportunity to discuss why misunderstandings between creatives and clients happen. And 4th edition is coming!
• IMIsound by Tony Lawson, bilingual, English and Italian, open.
The Italian indie musicians community, but not only. Anyone interested in music, in arts and video is welcome.

…And finally there is the fan page relating to my venue: AAA Copywriter Pubblicità Varese to which all my contacts should subscribe to, thus allowing me to subscribe back.
As I wrote before, this network is likely to grow even more. I haven’t decided yet, and I’d like to hear some other people first about the feasibility of other groups mainly relating to home business and startups, but I’d ilke to open them only if there is some actual interest.
