I was 14 when I first saw Akira Kurosawa’s 1962 movie “Sanjuro” (Tsubaki Sanjūrō was the Japanese title) and I was deeply impressed by the final duel scene.
I since developed a firm belief that in many cases the filmic fiction corresponded to truth: one single, completely unexpected, tough and strong blow can solve things without leaving a chance to reply.
The same applies for me to advertising: how can your ad be noticed in an ocean of background noise, often dealign with competitors whose claim is the same as yours?
You need a very strong, impacting ad to strike the viewer’s mind and that he won’t be able to forget.
I like my ads to be such. Hence my claim “I’m not a ninja, I’m a ronin“.
